Where CCTV Operates

Lawful Basis

We generally process CCTV images on the basis of our legitimate interests in maintaining the safety and security of our premises, customers and property and in investigating incidents.

Where necessary, footage may also be processed to comply with a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Access to CCTV

Access to CCTV recordings is restricted to authorised persons.

Footage may be viewed where there is an appropriate reason, such as investigating an accident, security incident, complaint, damage or suspected unlawful activity.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, relevant footage may be shared with:

  • the police or other law-enforcement agencies;

  • our insurers or insurance brokers;

  • solicitors or other professional advisers;

  • courts or regulatory authorities; or

  • other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

We do not sell CCTV footage.

Retention

CCTV recordings are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which the system is operated.

Where footage captures an accident, incident, complaint, damage or another matter that may require investigation, the relevant footage may be retained for longer while that matter is investigated or where it may be required for an insurance or legal claim.

Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant footage, such as the approximate date, time and location.
